Hospital Policies
Payment Policy:
Payment is due at the time of your visit. We accept Cash, Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express and Care Credit. Somerset Animal Hospital does not extend credit and you are responsible for all fees for products and services rendered. Deposits may be required for extensive medical and surgical treatments that require hospitalization of your pet. If your balance is not paid at the time services are rendered, you will be responsible not only for the balance due but any collection and/or reasonable attorney fees that are incurred in the attempt to collect this debt.
Cancelation Policy:
We require a 24-hour notice to cancel any doctor exam appointments, and 48-hour notice to cancel Surgery or Dental procedures.
Missed and Late Appointment Policy:
We understand that there are times when you must miss an appointment due to emergencies or obligations for work or family. However, when you do not call to cancel an appointment, you may be preventing another patient from getting much needed treatment. Conversely, the situation may arise where another patient fails to cancel and we are unable to schedule you for a visit, due to a seemingly “full” appointment book.
A “missed appointment” is defined as an occurrence where someone does not show up for an appointment and does not cancel the appointment in advance of the scheduled date and time. If you do not show up for your appointment and you do not cancel the appointment with the cancelation policy, we will record this in the medical record as a “missed appointment”. Each time you miss your appointment, you will be notified by telephone, and you will be asked to re-schedule.
Because your time and our time is valuable, we ask that you show up for your appointment 5-10 min prior to your appointment time. Clients that show up more than five (5) minutes late for their appointment are marked as a “missed appointment” and may need to be rescheduled.
A client who has three (3) or more “missed appointments” in a 12-month time period will be asked to pay a deposit for their pet’s examination in advance when scheduling their next appointment. The deposit will go towards the pets visit. If the client misses that appointment or cancels outside of the cancelation policy, the deposit will not be refunded.
Pre-Surgical Deposit Policy:
It is the policy of Somerset Animal Hospital to collect a pre-surgical deposit from all clients prior to any surgical procedure(s). The deposit is due upon booking of the surgical appointment. The deposits will be collected as follows:
Basic Surgeries (Spay/Neuter/Mass Removals): $60
Dental Cleanings: $200
Specialist Surgeries: The surgeons’ surgery price as listed on your estimate.
We offer several payment options for your convenience. We accept Visa, MasterCard, CareCredit and cash.
Surgery deposits will be applied to services rendered the day of the surgery. If the surgical appointment is cancelled by the client less than 48-hours in advance or the patient no-shows for the surgical appointment, the surgical deposit will not be refunded.
Prescriptions:
We appreciate 24hrs notice on all prescription medication refills so that we may have your medications ready when you arrive. Online prescription refills can be requested by accessing your PetDesk App. You can set up your own PetDesk App account through the link below.
