Dr. Art Rutscher

Even as a young boy, Dr. Art Rutscher, loved working with animals. At age 10, Rutscher began working on his neighbor's dairy farm and continued there through veterinary school.

From his ongoing experience on the dairy farm, Dr. Art, at one time, considered a career in dairy farming. As he began coursework at the University of Minnesota, he took credit that could be applied to either a degree in farming or veterinary medicine. The appealing part of both professions was running a small business and working daily with animals.

After graduating in 1987 from the University of Minnesota with a degree in veterinary medicine, Rutscher began searching for an existing clinic to purchase. When the right opportunity to buy an established practice did not present itself, Dr. Art began his own practice literally from scratch. Starting with a small, one-room office that he built out himself, Rutcher opened the doors of In Home Veterinary Service the practice that has now grown into At Home Animal Clinic is Stillwater, Minnesota.

In 2008, Rutscher and his staff opened the doors of Somerset Animal Hospital. Providing services based on the principle values of first loving animals and second providing exemplary service in a friendly, relaxed way, Somerset Animal Hospital welcomes the opportunity to serve you and your pets.
